Today, I focused the structural analysis of Mark 4 to the two sections dealing with the parable of the soils. I attached a pdf as well as a screenshot that tries to show the two pages of the pdf side by side.
Today is a good example of the limit to any one Bible study technique. Without word studies, we might be tempted to think verses 5 and 8 or even verses 16 and 20 use the same word. They don't.
Another item to note is whether conjunctions are simultaneous or sequential. In other words, does the good soil lead to welcoming the seed which in turn leads to production or is the welcoming the seed and production meant to be viewed as part of good soil (is it the welcoming and production that makes the soil good)?
The visual structural analysis is meant to help us see connections wrestle through the parable.
