STUDYING THE WORD TOGETHER

A 2025 READING PLAN

A few helpful (but totally optional) resources

If you make an investment in something, you are more likely to be committed to it. If you feel proud of your tools, you are more likely to use them often and well. While you only need a Bible, investing in a few good tools might help take your daily devotion to the next level.

                Reminder of the schedule:

Sunday – read the chapter twice

Monday – read the chapter once and look at key words

Tuesday - read the chapter once and look at the structure

Wednesday - read the chapter once and look at cross references

Thursday - read the chapter once and look at how the chapter reveals Who God is and what God does

Friday – read the chapter once and look at what the people got right and what they got wrong

Saturday – read the chapter once and ask, “what do these verses demand of me?”

Things you might like:

  • A Bible specifically for this study – you will make notes, highlights, arrows, and more. I use multiple Bibles all the time depending on the occasion.
  • Highlighters – or a special pen or pencil to help you visual
  • A journal – when we take the time to write something down, it helps us slow down our thinking and dig deeper.
  • On Mondays, a Bible dictionary will prove valuable. The gold standard is Vine’s Expository Dictionary.
  • On Wednesdays, a concordance or chain reference Bible is helpful. Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible is a staple.

There are countless free options online if you are tech minded.
